The Northwest Atlanta/Cumberland/Galleria submarket is one of the largest submarkets in the Southeast. Over $3 billion in public and private investment are coming to Cumberland/Galleria over the next four years. In addition to the $672 million world-class stadium for the Atlanta Braves, another $400 million is earmarked for mixed-use development. The Cumberland area continues to evolve into a community that offers it all – upscale hospitality, diverse leisure and entertainment, attractive housing, and fast-paced business. Cumberland Mall is a favorite shopping center for Northwest Atlanta residents, featuring an outstanding selection of sought-after retailers and restaurants. Anchor stores such as Costco and Macy’s and national brands like Apple, Sephora, H&M, Maggiano’s Little Italy, and The Cheesecake Factory draw visitors from far and wide, making this a key business, entertainment and dining destination. The Cumberland/Galleria submarket’s attractions include the Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Opera, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and Cobb Galleria Centre. They generate more than $124 million in economic impact for the state of Georgia annually while enhancing the community. In 2017, the Atlanta Braves will bring a major league sports franchise to the area. Cumberland Mall also draws foot traffic from Atlanta’s largest office submarket with more than 24 million square feet of office space and 5,000 hotel rooms located nearby. Also in nearby are the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and the Cobb Galleria Centre, a convention center that brings in 1.5 million visitors annually. The Atlanta Braves stadium draws fans from all over the southeastern United States.

• Greenspace in the Cumberland/Galleria submarket will be increased by 315 percent this year through a partnership with the National Park Service that provides greater accessibility to the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area.
• Commuter alternatives, including a CIDsupported vanpool program, eliminated more than 1,200 pounds of pollution last year.
• More than 1,000 street and pedestrian lights will be installed in the coming years.
• The CID continues to build out its 25-mile trail network (16 miles of which are already constructed).
